Hastings Direct — one of the UK's fastest growing insurance providers — officially thanked Leicester's Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby, other Leicester officials and business leaders yesterday for the warm welcome and support it received in the move to its Leicester city centre offices — Hastings' third UK site.
Along with Sir Peter Soulsby, City Mayor; Gary Hoffman, Chief Executive Officer for Hastings thanked and welcomed colleagues from Leicester City Council, LLEP, De Montfort University, Portal, The Curve Theatre, Leicester FC and Leicester Tigers. Gary said, "Our move to Leicester has been made that much easier through the welcome and support we've received from the city council, local businesses, universities and colleges. When we first met with Sir Peter in October last year, he spoke passionately about Leicester and what it could offer a growing, successful company like Hastings. In just eight months, we have moved into our temporary offices at Equinox and we have close to 100 Leicester colleagues who have really impressed us with their enthusiasm for providing our customers with refreshingly straightforward service. We hope to be able to recruit more colleagues of this calibre to support our ongoing growth.

Hastings provides personal lines insurance products (car, home, bike and van) online and also from its other UK customer service centres based in Bexhill-on-Sea and Newmarket where it continues to recruit new colleagues to help service its customers.
The multi award winning company has 1.8 million customers, and its ambitious expansion plan is on track to insure one in ten of all UK car drivers by 2020, raising its customer numbers to three million.
